1.2083 ESR (X40Cr14)
It is a plastic mold steel that exhibits stainless properties due to its high Cr content. 1.2083 ESR is supplied in a soft annealed condition (200-240 HB). It can be hardened up to 52 HRC through heat treatment. Its polishability and corrosion resistance in its hardened state are good. It is frequently used in molds for plastics that cause corrosion like PVC and in molds for products to be used in the food industry.
