5120 (20MnCr5)
It is a case-hardening steel containing chromium as an alloy element. It is frequently used in machine parts, especially in gear components. It is used in applications where a ductile core and hard surface are desired against wear through the case-hardening process. It is supplied in a soft annealed condition.
