Unlike manufacturing steels, these are alloyed steels that contain alloy elements such as chromium, molybdenum, and nickel in their structures and exhibit high strength and toughness when hardened. Tempering steels, produced in pre-hardened (QT) or soft annealed states, are widely used in machinery manufacturing and the mold industry. The hardening heat treatment applied to these steels is referred to as the tempering process. Thanks to the carbide-forming elements inside, high hardness levels can be achieved. They are also suitable materials for induction surface hardening processes.
